The process of commissioning an original drawing.

Step 1 – Initial Enquiry
Once an enquiry is received, we will arrange a suitable day/time to discuss your requirements, in person or by video call, depending on your location. Once we have established the basics of what you are looking for, i.e. size of drawing and an indication of what the drawing should contain, we will produce a quote for your review.

Step 2 – Quotation
Your quote will include the estimated cost; the number of weeks the drawing will be expected to take; the method of delivery to you when completed, as well as the terms of payment.

Step 3 – Commission Agreement
Once you have verbally accepted the quotation, an ‘Agreement To Proceed’ between you and the Artist will be sent to you. This agreement will include an agreed deposit amount to be paid to the Artist prior to him commencing any work . The Agreement is to be signed & dated by both the Artist and the client (or company representative). This Agreement will contain all relevant details such as specification / cost and terms of payment / anticipated duration and method of delivery.  If the work requires framing the agreement will make it clear whether that cost is extra or included in the commission. Up to 5 signed prints of hi-quality A3 or A4 size will be included without extra cost, and the client may request additional prints at a nominal charge. Please note copyrights on all art work belongs to the Artist, unless agreed otherwise.

Step 4 – Artwork production
The Artist will normally visit the location of the subject drawing and take reference photographs prior to commencing the drawing. The Artist and the client will agree which reference photo view is to be used for the drawing before he actually starts work. (Basically, the view the client wants to end up with)

The Artist is happy to provide the client with regular updates of progress, including photographs or videos showing progress. The Artist will discuss, prior to starting the work , specific details he is to include in the drawing as well as specific details to omit. (i.e. people/vehicles/lamp posts/trees/street signs, etc ). It is very important that the Artist is clear as to what should, and should not, be included in the work. The Artist is usually able to work closely with the client to ensure this is the case.

Step 5 – Completion & Delivery
The completed artwork will normally be delivered, in person if within a reasonable distance of Cardiff, otherwise by agreement with the Client, depending on location. If the commission includes framing and the location is with the United Kingdom, then it will generally be delivered by hand for safety and security.

The completed commission will then become a unique and lasting record
of the subject chosen by the Client!
